This is the simple bread in the world. This bread in fact doesn’t use a recipe at all. But we are going to give you a recipe to learn and make it at home. Nowadays, this bread can be related to Pakistani/Indian cooking, but if we go back to the history, we’ll find that this bread was used in almost all cultures of the ancient world. It is very easy to make. Let us show to how.
2 cups of plain flour or all-purpose flour
1 cup water
½ to 1 tsp salt (Adjust the amount of salt according to your taste)
1: In a large bowl, add flour, salt and water. Add just 1 cup of water for the moment because you’ll have to add a little bit more water or flour to adjust the consistency.
2: Now just take a fork and start mixing them together. Keep rolling and rolling with fork. Add some tablespoons of water if the dough becomes thicker. Or sprinkle the flour if it is too sticky.
3: Now start mixing it with your hands. You’ll see that the dough is pulling away from the side of the bowl. Keep it a little bit wet because you can adjust the consistency while making it.
4: Draw it from the bowl. Now sprinkle the surface with the little bit of flour and place the dough on it. You’ll have to decide how much work you want to put into this dough according to your flour. The more you knead, the more the gluten, the strength, will stretch out even in this all-purpose flour. Kneading the dough about 4 to 5 minutes can make the dough a little bit sticky which is perfect. You don’t need to overdo because this bread is not going to rise and it is the flat bread. The texture with some stickiness is great.
5: Now divide this into balls. Make the balls of the size of large gold ball. This dough will make more or less 9 balls.
6: Dust the surface with the flour and make bread with the help of rolling pin. Flat all the balls. Try to make them round and equal. Not so thick, not so thin.
7: Heat up a heavy bottom pan because it works really very well. If you drop some drops of water on it, this will be sizzling. It is the indicator to start cooking the bread.
8: Place one piece of bread in the pan. No need of oil or any other thing. This will be cooked as it is in the pan. Don’t try to cook 100% from one side at once. When the bread cooks 30 to 40 percent, flip it and then cook the other side partially. Cook the bread by flipping again and again until light brown. While cooking, you’ll see small or medium air pockets in the bread which is perfect sign.
9: Cook rest of the pitas in the same manner. You can enjoy this flat bread with Lebanese falafel, Kibbeh Nayyeh, Baba Ganoush, Tahini, Hummus, Chicken Curry, Sweet and sour chicken or with pasta. Enjoy yourself.

2 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
¼ cup of warm water for yeast
½ cup of warm water for dough
Half tsp of salt
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1: First of all, take ¼ cup of warm water and add sugar and yeast in it. Mix it very well. Cover and leave it for 10 to 12 minutes.

7: Cook the both sides equally. When you see light brown spots, then turn the heat up and press the edges of the bread. Use spatula for this purpose. This step will puff up your bread and will add more taste experience.
8: Your pita bread will be ready after completely puffed. Cover it to keep it soft and enjoy.
