Arabic Hummus Recipe

Hummus is a simple, easy to cook and yummy sauce (dip) originating from the Arabic cuisine. Hummus sauce consists of ingredients like chickpeas, chilies, cumin and tahini (Click here to see Tahini Recipe). The best Arabic sauce can be made at home.

Hummus with Tahini

Ingredients for Hummus Recipe with Tahini

1 clove garlic
1 can chickpeas (each 400 g)
Half chili
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste)
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions (Hummus with Tahini)

1. Chop the garlic cloves. Add the chickpeas, chili, cumin, lemon juice, olive oil and tahini in a food processor.
2. Blend until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Your Hummus is ready to eat. Keep refrigerated until serving.

Note: This recipe is made of 5 ml hummus sauce.

Hummus without Tahini

Hummus without tahini is best for those who want to have hummus on their table but without tahini. Some children even do not like tahini. So have a look on hummus without tahini.

Ingredients for Hummus without Tahini

1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cumin
¼ cup of olive oil
400 g chickpeas

Directions for Hummus without Tahini

1. Blend all the ingredients in a food processor until creamy and smooth.
2. Your sauce is ready to eat. Keep it in the fridge for a while before serving.
Serve with pita chips or pita bread.
