Turkish Baklava is a sweet and rich pastry made with layers of walnuts, almonds and pistachios. A delicious dessert from Turkish cuisine. The authentic baklava recipe we are going to tell you below can make 35 pieces of Baklava.
Servings: 35 pieces

Ingredients for Baklava Recipe

Filling
200 g walnuts
100 g pistachios
100 g almonds
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
Filo
200g butter
250 g of Filo
Syrup
½ cup of lemon juice
4 cups granulated sugar
4 cups water
Note: Honey can be used instead of above mentioned syrup to make the recipe more simple and easy.

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 150 ° C.
2. Mix the nuts and almonds in a food processor. It’ll be a bit mixed, both fine and rough. Mix the sugar, cinnamon and vanilla sugar.
3. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Brush an ovenproof dish, 20×30 cm, with a bit of butter. Place a sheet of filo on the dish, just on the bottom (cut or trim the excess dough) Brush the dough with the butter. Repeat with 3 more sheets. Spread half of the filling evenly over the dough.
4. Lay another 4 sheets of filo and brush with butter between each sheet. Add the rest of the filling evenly over the dough.
5. Cover with the last 3 sheets of dough and brush with butter between each and the top sheet of dough.
6. Cut the squares into the unbaked pie.
7. Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes.
8. (Syrup): Squeeze the lemon. Mix the lemon juice, sugar and water in a saucepan. Let it boil vigorously for about 15 minutes. In some regions, honey is used instead of this syrup. So, the choice is up to you.
9. Spoon the hot syrup (or honey) over the freshly baked cake. Let it cool. Then keep the mold in the refrigerator for one day so that the baklava get really cold before they are unloaded from the mold. Your baklava dessert is ready to eat.

Tip
Adding orange blossom water or rose water can enhance the taste of baklava.
Note:
This will make 35 pieces of baklava, if you want to increase or decrease the number of pieces, you’ll have to manipulate the amount of ingredients and time to cook.

Chocolate Peanut Turkish Baklaval Recipe

Chocolate Baklava Recipe with walnuts and peanutsThat was the regular or traditional easy & best baklava recipe. Now we are going to tweak this easy recipe. We are going to add chocolate flavor and peanut crunch in it. Let’s get started.
Servings: More or less 10 pieces

Ingredients:

25 phyllo sheets (8×8-inches)
Half cup of melted butter
Half cup of milk chocolate chips
Half cup of chopped peanuts
Half cup of simple syrup (at room temperature)
Note:

Syrup recipe is mentioned above. Use honey instead of syrup to save the time and energy.

Method:

1: Preheat your oven to 350 °F.

2: Add peanut and milk chocolate chips in a large bowl.

3: Grease your pan with melted butter. Then start placing the phyllo sheets one by one. Don’t forget to grease each sheet from both sides.

4: After placing 10 sheets, now sprinkle half of your chocolate chip mixture made in step 2.

5: Now start placing sheets again and place 5 sheets. Don’t forget to butter all the sheets.

6: After placing 5 more sheets, sprinkle the rest of your mixture.

7: Now again start placing sheets greasing with butter. Place the remaining 10 sheets.
Summary of till now:

Place 10 sheets “THEN” Half of your mixture “THEN” 5 sheets “THEN” rest of the mixture “THEN” rest of 10 sheets

8: Cut your baklava in equal parts. Make rectangular shapes or cut it diagonally.

9: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

10: Pour your syrup or honey and leave it for 1 to 2 hours. Let it soak the sweetness of the liquid. Your chocolate baklava is ready.


Chocolate Turkish Baklava with walnuts

We learnt simple baklava, then chocolate baklava with peanuts. Now we are going to make chocolate baklava with walnuts. It has a sweet and crunchy flavor. We are super excited to share this recipe. Let’s move forward.
Servings: More or less 10 pieces

Ingredients:

2 cups of chopped walnuts
1 cup of chopped semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 of cup sugar
3 cups of simple syrup (use honey instead if you want to save time and energy)
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 cups of melted butter or melted sweet cream butter
25 phyllo sheets (8×8-inches)

Directions:

1: Preheat the oven on 350 °F.

2: In a medium bowl, mix sugar, walnuts, semi-sweet chocolate chips and cinnamon powder. Mix them very well.

3: The rest of the procedure is same as above. Remaining process has been written in the above recipe. Follow from step 3.
